Het vliegveld Pablo Ruiz Picasso van Malaga (AGP) is de belangrijkste luchthaven voor de Costa del Sol in Spanje. Het vliegveld is gelegen acht km ten zuidwesten van de stad Málaga en vijf km ten noorden van Torremolinos. De luchthaven heeft vluchten naar meer dan 60 landen wereldwijd en verwerkte 13.590.537 passagiers in 2007. De luchthaven wordt beheerd door het Spaanse staatsbedrijf AENA.

De luchthaven heeft momenteel drie operationele terminals. Een derde terminal is in 2010 geopend. Een tweede startbaan is in aanbouw.

Vliegveld Málaga (AGP), is ook bekend als Aeropuerto Pablo Ruiz Picasso, genoemd naar deze beroemde artiest uit Malaga. Het is de vierde luchthaven van Spanje na  Madrid Barajas, Barcelona el Prat en Palma de Mallorca (PIM). Het vliegveld heeft verbinding met 60 landen in de hele wereld, en had meer dan 11 miljoen passagiers in 2009. Een derde terminal naast de bestaande twee is 15 Maart 2010 geopend. Een tweede landingsbaan wordt naar verwachting eind 2010 in gebruik genomen.

Málaga Airport is hét internationale vliegveld van Andalusië, met verbinding naar vele bestemmingen, en omvat rond 85% van het interationale verkeer van de regio.

Access to the airport from Malaga city is made by the A7 road towards Algeciras. Take exit 235 towards Torremolinos to connect with the MA-21 and access the airport.

Malaga Airport Train Service

There is a half hour train service to Malaga City and Fuengirola from the station just in front of the main terminal.

Due to the works to expand the airport, the access to the suburban train halt should be made from car park P-1, going up to the 2nd floor and crossing a provisional pedestrian crossing.  (2010/08)

 

Malaga Airport Buses
There is a half hour Airport Bus from outside the Terminal Two arrivals hall to Malaga city centre. There is a 45 minute Airport Coach Service (90 minute in Winter) from outside the Terminal Two arrivals hall non stop to Marbella Bus Station.
